We are convinced that it is past time to convert our utilities to public ownership. The right to utility service is a human right--electricity, water, gas, sewer, and internet. All utilities are necessary for the functioning of our society and the preservation of life.
To allow life and death decisions to be made based on profit concerns is a violation of human rights. The delivery of public utilities is a public good and should be provided by entities that are publicly owned to ensure that life and death decisions are made in the best interests of all.
